One of Tooting’s oldest pubs, The Castle has been part of the Young’s estate since 1832 and has an exciting history; American film actor, director and producer, John Wayne is known for frequenting The Castle in the 1940s. In the 1970s, the pub had an excellent reputation for live music and hosted the ‘Tooting Blues Club’. They put bands on almost every night and several contemporary bands played here, including Status Quo, the Groundhogs and the Faces.

Step inside today and you won’t believe your eyes...

We have a contemporary yet cosy area at the front of the pub for relaxed drinks. Behind the main bar, there are two gleaming Meantime ‘Brewery Fresh’ tanks that not only look impressive, but dispense fresh lager straight to the bar for you to try! Our restaurant area leads into the bright airy conservatory room known as The Orangery, both of which provide fantastic spaces to enjoy our fantastic food with full table service. We have a beautiful, big beer garden with a patio and alfresco dining options. In addition, there are eight heated huts with seating, two of which have their own fires and are available for private hire.

With many different areas, we can cater for most events and parties, but please hire early as we are in high demand!

There is something for everyone at The Castle. We look forward to welcoming you soon!
